Jokowi Issues Decree on Joint Leave Days in 2024 for State Apparatus

10 January 2024 18:08 WIB

TEMPO.CO, JakartaPresident Joko Widodo or Jokowi signed Presidential Decree No. 7 of 2024 concerning Joint Leave for State Civil Apparatus or ASN. Citing from the State Secretariat’s information center or JDIH website, the decree was inked on Tuesday, January 9, 2024.

The collective leave days for civil servants in 2024 are as follows:

1. February 9, 2024 (Friday): a joint holiday for Chinese New Year 2575;

2. March 12, 2024 (Tuesday): a joint holiday for Hindus Silence Day or Nyepi, the 1946 Caka Lunar New Year;

3. April 8, 9, 12, and 15, 2024 (Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Monday): a joint holiday for Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijri;

4. May 10, 2024 (Friday): a joint holiday for the Ascension Day of Jesus Christ;

5. May 24, 2024 (Friday): a joint holiday for Vesak Day;

6. June 18, 2024 (Tuesday): a joint holiday for Eid al-Adha 1445 Hijri; and

7. December 26, 2024 (Thursday): a joint holiday for Christmas.

The decree states that the collective leave days do not reduce the annual leave rights. Government employees who are not entitled to collective leave days due to their position will have more annual leave days according to the collective leave days.

“This Presidential Decree comes into force on the date of enactment,” the decree notes.

The signing of this Presidential Decree follows a Joint Decree or SKB of three ministers, which was stipulated on September 12, 2023. The three ministers are Minister of Religious Affairs Yaqut Cholil Qoumas, Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziayah, and Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Azwar Anas.

The Presidential Decree also regulates provisions for national holidays. The regulation of joint leave days for civil servants falls under a presidential decree, while those for private institutions/agencies are regulated by their respective leaders.
