Bali Named Second Most Popular Global Destination on Tripadvisor

10 January 2024 15:27 WIB

TEMPO.CO, JakartaBali has been recognized as one of the world's most popular travel destinations through the TripAdvisor Travelers' Choice Awards of 2024. Every year, the travel site releases its annual list of the top tourist destinations, hotels, restaurants, and things to do around the world based on reviews and ratings gathered over the twelve months between October 2022 and September 2023.

For the third year in a row, Dubai has secured the top position on the list of most popular destinations. According to TripAdvisor, Dubai offers tourists a particularly spectacular experience, from the ultra-modern Burj Khalifa to the souks and malls filled with gold and jewelry vendors.

“It’s a place where if you can dream it, you can do it, whether that means skiing indoors, dune-surfing in the desert, or zip-lining above the city,” TripAdvisor noted.

Bali ranked second on the list, followed by London, Hanoi, Rome, and Paris. TripAdvisor says the Indonesian paradise feels like a fantasy, where tourists can soak up the sun on a stretch of fine white sand and dive along coral ridges or the colorful remains of a World War II warship.

“The 'artistic capital' of Ubud is the perfect place to see a cultural dance performance, take a batik or silver-smithing workshop, or invigorate your mind and body in a yoga class,” it said.

Here is a list of the top ten most popular destinations according to TripAdvisor:

1. Dubai, United Arab Emirates

2. Bali, Indonesia

3. London, United Kingdom

4. Hanoi, Vietnam

5. Rome, Italy

6. Paris, France

7. Cancun, Mexico

8. Marrakech, Morocco

9. Crete, Greece

10. Hoi An, Vietnam
