Promoting Sustainable Indonesian Coffee at the 2024 Viet Nam Cafe Show

TEMPO.CO, Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam - The largest international coffee exhibition in Viet Nam and served as a platform for local and international networking in the coffee, F&B, food tech, and high-tech agriculture industries, The Viet Nam International Café Show, was held from May 9 until May 11, 2024, at the Saigon Exhibition Convention Center, HCMC.
The economic development of Viet Nam, the growing young population, and coffee culture make Viet Nam an attractive coffee market with significant opportunities for collaboration.
"Expanding the network by participating in exhibitions is very beneficial in helping to obtain local and even international partners," said Mrs. Wulan from PT Souvantara Portaveda Gemilang, one of the participants of the 9th Viet Nam International Café Show 2024, as reported from Kemlu.go.id.
This year marks her second participation in the Café Show in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC), Viet Nam. Previously, she also participated in business matching activities at the Indonesia Festival event in Can Tho City organized by the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in HCMC along with the local government.
According to Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in HCMC, Wulan's experiences and benefits gained served as encouragement for other Indonesian participants involved in the Indonesian Pavilion: PT Health Today Indonesia, PT Tamari Agri Lestari, and Rasa Group, as well as Van Kim Trading, one of the Indonesian product distributors in Viet Nam.
Products showcased from Indonesia included arabica and robusta coffee from Papua, Itjen-Banyuwangi, Toraja, Flores, Lombok, Bali, and Kalimantan. The sustainability theme was also highlighted with the introduction of earth-friendly organic coffee. Additionally, innovative coffee concoctions such as "Fizzy-Pho" with the flavor of "Pho" (a Vietnamese specialty dish) and "Spiced Vietnamese Coffee 4.0" with spices were presented.
The Indonesian Pavilion received a warm welcome from visitors during the opening ceremony with a modified Balinese dance performance called "Coffee Dance," performed by Balinese dancers from Indonesia.
The Indonesian Pavilion was among the 400 exhibitors from 20 countries and territories participating in the Viet Nam International Café Show 2024, including South Korea, China, Malaysia, Peru, and Italy. The Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in HCMC, Agustaviano Sofjan, attended the opening ceremony of the exhibition on May 9, 2024, along with representatives from the Investment and Trade Promotion Center (ITPC) Ho Chi Minh City, Vietrade office in HCMC, Consuls General in HCMC, and the exhibition organizer, Exporum.
During a meeting with Indonesian participants before the exhibition, the Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in HCMC emphasized the importance of building networks, finding the right local partners, and being innovative in seizing opportunities. Indonesian representatives will always be ready to support efforts to bridge market opportunities in Viet Nam with Indonesia's potential.
In addition to the exhibition, there are also business matching activities, the Asia Latte Art Championship, and the Viet Nam International Barista Championship.
