Whoosh Group Ticket Booking Available via WhatsApp, KCIC Announces
TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train operator PT Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) introduced a new group booking service for Whoosh tickets which can be accessed via the popular messaging app, WhatsApp. This special service was launched in response to the high public interest in group travel.
Since its commercial launch from October 17 to November 18, 2023, PT KCIC has received at least 670 group travel requests with total ticket sales of around 54,000 seats.
“This is to provide convenience to people who want to use the Whoosh high-speed train,” PT KCIC General Manager Corporate Secretary Eva Chairunisa said in a written statement on Sunday, November 19.
The group ticket booking service can be accessed via WhatsApp at 0813-4000-2920 with a minimum requirement of 20 passengers. Reservations can be made up to ten days prior to departure. To date, online ticket booking is only valid for a maximum of 5 people in one order.
Group reservations, Eva said, will allow people to avoid the hassle of ordering tickets using multiple accounts and getting separate seats from their group.
Eva also urged people to be aware of ticket ordering scams, stressing that group orders can only be made using PT KCIC's procedures via WhatsApp.
Meanwhile, independent orders can be made via official channels, such as the Whoosh Kereta Cepat mobile application, ticket.kcic.co.id, ticket vending machines, and official counters at train stations. Partner apps, such as Access by KAI, Livin by Mandiri, and BRImo are also available for independent orders.
