TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The General Elections Commission (KPU) has today wrapped up the drawing of the serial number for the presidential and vice presidential candidates contesting in the 2024 general elections.
The agency’s chairman Hasyim Asyari led the serial number drawing, which took place at the KPU Office in Menteng, Central Jakarta.
Anies Baswedan and Muhaimin Iskandar, or Anies-Cak Imin, were assigned the number 01 for the upcoming presidential election race. The pair of Ganjar Pranowo and Mahfud Md (Ganjar-Mahfud) got number 03, while Prabowo Subianto and Gibran Rakabuming Raka (Prabowo-Gibran) got number 02.
Prabowo and his running mate, who is the eldest son of President Jokowi, were dressed in blue. They arrived at 7:35 p.m. riding an electric bus with plate number B 9048 XKZ. Tempo observed that they were accompanied by the political party elite of the Indonesia Maju coalition.
Meanwhile, the pair of Anies Baswedan and Muhaimin Iskandar arrived at the KPU office at 6:50 p.m. dressed in white and accompanied by the elite of the Coalition for Change. They arrived in a minibus with plate number B 7777 AR.
The pair of Ganjar Pranowo and Mahfud Md were seen arriving at the KPU office dressed in all black, riding a car with plate number B 1573 DOE. PDIP General Chairperson Megawati Soekarnoputri was also present at the event.
