TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Acting Governor of Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono alluded that his administration will not extend the work-from-home (WFH) policy he previously implemented for civil state apparatus (ASN) working in the provincial government of Jakarta.
The 50/50 WFH Policy for ASN will end this October 21, 2023. Heru stated that ASN would go to the office like usual, and he would evaluate the WFH policy.
"WFH will end on October 21, [the ASN] must go to the office, [the policy] be will be evaluated," he said at Jakarta City Hall on Wednesday.
According to Heru, one of the reasons for ending this policy is the looming rainy season in Jakarta. However, Heru could not at the moment report how effective the WFH policy is.
"This is a trial run, the effectiveness [of the policy] still has to be studied. The Transportation Office and the Regional Employment Agency will submit their reports on this issue soon," he said.
The provincial government of Jakarta previously implemented this WFH policy trial run for three months from August 21 to October 21, 2023. The policy affected 23,343 people.
Earlier, the Transportation Office announced that the volume of traffic declined by 1.69 percent during the implementation of the policy. "So, the volume of traffic on September 4-8 compared to August 7-11 has decreased by 1.69 percent," said the Head of Transportation Office Syafrin Liputo in Jakarta on September 12.
