TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Metro Jaya Police will resume emissions test ticketing on November 1, 2023. Traffic Department Director of the Metro Jaya Police Chief Commissioner Latif Usman urged the public to conduct independent emissions tests before the time.
"For this whole month, [we] hope the public will conduct emissions test independently," he said as quoted by Antara today, Monday, October 16.
The police are currently trying to socialize with the public regarding emissions test ticketing along with the Ministry of Environment and Forestry. Throughout October, there are several independent emissions test services in a number of workshops.
According to the data released in https://ujiemisi.jakarta.go.id/, there are 1,264,206 tested vehicles until Sunday, October 15. These vehicles consist of 1,142,116 cars and 122,090 motorcycles.
The emissions test ticketing itself was provided under Article 285 and Article 286 of the Traffic and Transportation Law No. 22 of 2009. The tickets for vehicles failing the emissions tests are Rp250,000 for motorcycles and Rp500,000 for cars.
