TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Mandalika Grand Prix Association (MGPA) claims that preparations for the Mandalika MotoGP which will be held from October 13 to 15, are almost 100 percent complete. MGPA president director Priandhi Satria said that there are only preparations for small things that will soon be resolved.
"You can say that (it is close to 100 percent)," Priandhi told Antara on Tuesday, October 3, adding that during about 10 months in the last year, the MGPA had run 45 activities, "whether it's two-wheeled, four-wheeled, drifting, and Mandalika Racing Series."
Priandhi said that the Mandalika Circuit is always ready to hold races as there are always preparations for both races and non-race activities.
Other preparations include preparing workers in the field, including marshalls who are now dominated by Indonesians and local marshalls from Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara.
As for the tickets for this year's MotoGP, Priandhi said that 60 percent had been sold. Based on last year's MotoGP, he said, fans have a tendency to buy tickets at the last minute before the grand prix starts.
"We hope that within a week the desired quota will be achieved," said Priandi.
