TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Lombok's Mandalika Circuit has begun the painting process on several curbs and run-off areas ahead of the 2023 Mandalika MotoGP, with a total area of 27,381 square meters.
“This is done as part of maintenance and improvement of Mandalika Circuit ahead of MotoGP 2023 which is slated to be held on October 13 -15,” said MGPA in a written statement received by Tempo.co.
The painting aims to ensure the quality of the track remains meets the safety standards for racers, in addition to beautifying the Pertamina Mandalika International Street Circuit.
The first stage of the painting process was removing the old paint that had faded on several curbs and run-off areas until they were clean, to prepare the base surface for repainting.
This was done to remove the old paint layer which may have been damaged due to exposure to weather and prolonged use. Considering Mandalika's location which is close to the sea, fading occurs quite quickly.
The initial step was carried out in great detail by a team of experts experienced in circuit maintenance. By dredging the curb paint and then repainting it, the Mandalika Circuit is committed to ensuring that every detail on this track remains in prime condition.
Clean and well-maintained curbs using FIM standard paint are one of the key aspects in maintaining the safety of racers and ensuring that they can compete safely at the 2023 Mandaika MotoGP.
Meanwhile, Chief of Judicial Commission Amzulian Rifai has reportedly visited the circuit to monitor the Pertamina Mandalika International Street Circuit area ahead of Mandalika MotoGP.
In his visit, Amzulian Rifai appreciated all the preparation done by MGPA, as the Circuit management and event promoter, both in the operational and promotional for the success of Mandalika MotoGP 2023.
