1. Indonesia-China Agree on KCJB's Operation and Maintenance Consortium

General Manager Corporate Secretary of PT KCIC Eva Chairunisa explained that the governments of Indonesia and China have agreed upon the operation and maintenance consortium (OMC) of the Jakarta-Bandung High-speed Train (KCJB). According to Eva, the operation of high-speed rail necessitated human resources with specific skills. 

In relation to that, Indonesia and China agreed that the initial phase of KCJB's maintenance and operation will be conducted by the consortium from both countries' companies, namely China Railway Engineering Corporation and PT KAI. "Meanwhile, the budget for KCJB's OMC is agreed for no more than Rp1 trillion every year," Eva said in a brief text message on Friday, September 15, 2023.

2. National Museum Ensures Transparency on the Aftermath of Saturday Fire

Acting Head of the Public Service Agency for Museums and Cultural Heritage Ahmad Mahendra ensured that the National Museum will be transparent about the condition of the affected museum collections after a fire broke out last Saturday, September 16, 2023.

"The point is, we will inform you when everything is clear. We are committed to being transparent about the data to avoid any error," Ahmad said on Monday.

Ahmad also hoped that the museum could still restore affected artifacts. He stressed that the National Museum will cooperate with experts on the situation and openly report the progress. "Hopefully we could still restore the damages, if any. We will surely report [the progress] since we are also cooperating with experts in addition to the National Museum staff," he said.

3. Jokowi's Intelligence Data on Political Parties Is Political Scandal: NasDem

The House of Representatives (DPR) Commission III member from the NasDem Party Faction, Taufik Basari, argued that it is a political scandal that President Joko Widodo or Jokowi has intelligence information on political parties. He said this could threaten democracy.

“We're talking about democratic countries, usually such things become political scandals in the public,” Taufik Basari, usually called Tobas, told Tempo on Monday, September 18, 2023.

He hoped that the president will be able to fulfill his constitutional mandate: to preserve democracy. “By not using the intelligence data for political purposes,” he said.
