University of Indonesia Student Found Dead; Killed by Senior

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - A student of the University of Indonesia was found dead with stab wounds, wrapped in plastic trash in his own dormitory in Kukusan, Beji District on Friday, August 4. The student, 19-year-old MNZ was later found to have been killed by his own senior in college, AAB (23).
AAB is also a student in UI's Faculty of Humanities' Slavic Literature Department majoring in Russian studies,
The Depok Metro Police's Criminal Investigation Unit deputy, Adj. Comr. Nirwan Pohan, said that the suspect was found less than three hours after the police received the report. He said that the suspect used a utility/folding knife to kill the victim.
"The suspect was friends with his victim as they are studying the same program. The victim MNZ is 19 years old; and the suspect AAB, 23 years old," Nirwan said, Friday.
Nirwan said that the police had investigated the crime scene and asked collected statements from a number of witnesses. The suspect had been taken to police custody for intensive questioning. Meanwhile, MNZ's body had been taken to the police hospital for autopsy.
Nirwan said that the police have confiscated pieces of evidence from the crime scene. "We will release more information later," he said.
