TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Director of Social Health Insurance Administration Body (BPJS) Ghufron Mukti commented on the institution's plan to abolish Classes 1, 2, and 3 into a Standard Inpatient Class (KRIS). "Let's wait for D-day since this is still a trial run. Wait for the regulation, the result, and the concept," he said.
Meanwhile, Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin mentioned that KRIS will uphold comfort for all Indonesians. KRIS has a minimal standard applied to ensure better services. "The standard is intended to give better and more comfortable BPJS' healthcare services to the public," said Budi after a press conference at RSCM on Friday, July 14, 2023, as quoted by Antara.
As provided in the Decree of Health Services DG No. Hk.02.02/1/2995/2022 concerning the hospitals that run trials for KRIS, there are 12 facilitation criteria to be fulfilled by the hospitals. First, the building of the hospital shall not have a high porosity level. Second, the air ventilation shall fulfill the standard of 6 air exchanges per hour in the general ward.
The artificial room lighting could follow the 250 lux standard criteria and 50 lux for sleep lighting, every bed shall be installed with two electrical outlets and a nurse call. The ward should also be facilitated with a nightstand beside the hospital bed, regulating the room temperature at 20 to 26 degrees Celsius, and dividing the rooms based on genders, ages, and diseases.
Budi also explained the other criteria are the maximum capacity of a ward being 4 beds, with a 1.5-meter distance each. The curtain and its rail shall be embedded in the ceiling. Meanwhile, the bathroom shall be standardized for maximum accessibility. Lastly, every ward shall be provided with oxygen outlets.
