TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - If you like music so much and would like to attend a music event without having you to pay for a ticket, then look no further because in just a few days, the Institut Français d'Indonésie (IFI) or the French Institute of Indonesia will hold a free musical event.
The musical event is called Fête de la Musique 2023, which literally means Music Party. It will be held at the Pasaraya Blok M Plaza in Jakarta on Wednesday, June 21st, 2023, starting at 04:00 p.m. The event will also be held at Bandung IFI in West Java on Thursday, June 22nd, 2023, and for the last day, the event will end at Surabaya IFI in East Java, on June 24th, 2023
This musical event, which consisted of collaboration between Indonesian and French musicians, will be the sixth time to be held officially in Indonesia.
A total of eight musicians will enliven the event. One of them is Gatha, who is originally from Bordeaux, France. She will be collaborating with Yacko, an Indonesian female rapper who has been active in the Indonesian Hip-Hop world for 20 years. Besides the two of them, other performers will also make appearances such as Sir Lommar John from the Kedubes Bekasi collective, Halunan from the Kios Ojo Keos collective, and Fabian Putra & Magidate from the Earhouse Songwriting Club collective.
"The idea is to cooperate with those collectives by partnering with Kedubes Bekasi, Kios Ojo Keos, and Earhouse as the curator partner for the Fête de la Musique 2023 (...) I am confident that good musicians are so many, that's why we have to cooperate with those collectives to get the best ones," said Bimo Putra, Deputy Cultural Attaché at IFI and at the French Embassy.
