TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo congratulated Putri Ariani for her stunning performance at America's Got Talent (AGT) show. In a social media statement, he praises the blind singer who has recently become the world's attention.
“Indeed, this is the initial chapter of Putri Ariani's long journey ahead. Hopefully, what Putri Ariani has achieved will inspire everyone,” Jokowi said on his official Instagram @jokowi on Monday, June 12, 2023.
Putri Ariani proved that dreams can be achieved with perseverance, hard work, and belief in one's own abilities. Jokowi hoped that Putri can continue the journey to achieve her goals. “Congratulations Putri Ariani. Fly higher, reach your dreams, and always bring Indonesia’s [good] name,” Jokowi said.
The 17-year-old singer gets the Golden Buzzer from judge and show creator Simon Cowell at AGT season 18 in the United States on June 6, 2023. The judges and the audience were stunned by her performance singing the original Loneliness.
The senior high student said that music is an important part of her life. “Music understands Putri's feelings best,” the winner of Indonesia’s Got Talent in 2014 said.
Putri who performed at the opening ceremony of the 2018 Asian Para Games in Jakarta commented on the President’s post. “Thank you very much Bapak @jokowi, for the extraordinary appreciation for Putri. Putri is so touched. This is an honor, pride, and happiness for Putri,” she wrote.
Putri Ariani also said that she is proud to be an Indonesian child. “Because Indonesia is Permata Indah Dunia [a beautiful gem of the world]. We are able, we are capable, we are equal,” she said in the original song.
