BSI Director: All Banking Services Return to Normal

11 May 2023 20:48 WIB

TEMPO.CO, JakartaDirector of Indonesia’s largest sharia bank, Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI), Hery Gunardi stated that all banking services have returned to normal today, May 11, following the disruption that broke out on Monday, May 8. Hery claimed that his side continued to normalize the system in stages.

After the disruption occurred, customers on May 9 could already make transactions at the branch office and ATMs throughout the archipelago. In the evening, basic features on the BSI Mobile app could gradually be accessed.

“On Wednesday morning, May 10, more features on BSI Mobile can be used,” Hery said in a press conference at Wisma Mandiri on Thursday, May 11.

“Today, May 11, all BSI ATM and mobile banking services are back to normal and can be used for transactions as usual,” he added.

Hery also ensured that customer funds remained safe. BSI is further committed to strengthening banking cyber defense and security. He also appealed to customers to always be vigilant and careful about fraudulent modes acting on behalf of BSI.

“We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for the support and trust in BSI,” Hery said.

As previously reported, the House of Representatives (DPR) Commission XI member Mukhamad Misbakhun said the House planned to summon BSI next week over the service problems that lasted for days. According to him, there must be improvements in the state-owned Sharia bank.
