TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Coldplay, a British alternative rock and Britpop band, is confirmed to be holding a music concert in Indonesia on November 15, 2023, at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, Jakarta. This is assured by Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno who previously announced the news a few weeks ago but then deleted it.
“[I] re-upload the deleted post. Good job for PK Entertainment. I hope the event will be successful in opening up many jobs and entertaining Coldplay fans!” Sandiaga wrote on his Instagram on Wednesday evening, May 3.
He re-uploaded the video of his meeting with PK Entertainment as the promoter. During the meeting, he hoped that apart from greeting fans in Indonesia, the concert would have a positive impact, especially on the tourism sector.
“Get ready for the ticket war! Let us be good hosts, and I hope this event will run smoothly for the sake of our economic revival, and if possible, Coldplay will try Indonesian dishes and also [visit] Indonesian tourist destinations that we are promoting,” Sandiaga said in the video.
Ticket Prices
On the same occasion, Sandiaga asked about the estimated ticket prices. PK Entertainment explained that they were still discussing it with Coldplay's management.
It was stated that the audience capacity would reach 70,000 people. Sandiaga welcomed this as the job opportunities would be wider, especially if it is held for two days. “Make sure local creative economy actors and MSMEs are involved, and there is risk management too. So we want this event to also prove our commitment to sustainability,” Sandiaga told PK Entertainment.
However, Sandiaga Uno's confirmation post did not last long as he deleted it less than one hour after published. Meanwhile, the social media accounts of PK Entertainment and Coldplay have not yet provided any information regarding the most-awaited music concert in Indonesia.
