PT DLU Prepares 45 Ships for Eid Transportation

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Batulicin Branch of shipping company PT Dharma Lautan Utama (DLU) is preparing 45 ships for Eid transportation. These ships will serve trips to various regions in Indonesia including Tanah Bumbu Regency in South Kalimantan.

In addition to ships, DLU Batulicin Branch will also increase the volume of its field staff assigned to improve the quality of its services  for passengers.

"We estimate that this year the public's interest in using sea transportation will increase. Thus from now on PT DLU will continue to prepare Eid 2023 transportation services," head of PT DLU Batulicin Branch, Jamirin, said on Thursday, March 9,.

Jamirin predicted passenger demand for sea transportation will increase because the government lifted the Covid-19 restriction of public movements (PPKM) several months ago.

DLU management is also preparing other supporting facilities such as beds, massages, hairdressers and health services free of charge for the convenience of passengers. There is also a stage area, sitting room for the economy class, prayer rooms, food courts and cafeteria, as well as children's play areas.

"For now, ferry ticket prices for Batulicin-Surabaya have not been adjusted yet. The price for adults is Rp355.00, children's is Rp270,000, babies Rp45,000. For class II vehicles the ticket price is Rp560,000 and for class III vehicles Rp2,450,000," he said.

Jamirin could not say when the shops will operate as the company is still making the schedules. PT DLU aims to finish the preparation of the schedule and release it immediately so that prospective passengers can adjust the departure schedule according to their needs, Jamirin said.
