TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Big Bad Wolf international book fair has returned to Indonesia after a two-year absence due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This year, it will be held at ICE BSD, Tangerang starting November 24, 2022.
The last bazaar was held back on March 6-16, 2020. It was also held online during the pandemic.
“We are very pleased to greet Jakarta book lovers directly after a two-year absence due to the COVID-19 pandemic,” said President Director of Big Bad Wolf Indonesia, Uli Silalahi, in a written statement, quoted from Antara, Friday, November 18, 2022.
This book bazaar will take place from November 25 to December 5, 2022. The BBW Secret Sale will be held the day before on November 24.
This year’s book fair tour series has taken place in four other cities, namely Surabaya, Yogyakarta, Bandung, and Semarang. Jakarta will be the final destination.
Uli said about 50,000 new books and millions of international books of all genres will be available at the upcoming bazaar. There will also be a 50-90 percent discount. “BBW's commitment is to provide access to quality international books at affordable prices,” she said.
Apart from international books, Indonesian books from around 50 Indonesian publishers curated by Mizan Publishing will be on sale.
Those who cannot visit ICE BSD can shop online at Tokopedia on November 24 – December 6, 2022, and get discounts of up to 90 percent.
Various prizes are offered during the book bazaar, starting from BARBUK (Book Haul) contest to 1 trolley full of books. Big Bad Wolf also has a program of buy 2 get 1 for Little Hippo books. As an event sponsor, BCA also spurs discounts.
