Jokowi Departs for Mojokerto to Monitor Sugarcane Factory

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo left for Mojokerto, East Java, this morning, November 4, 2022. Deputy for Protocol, Press, and Media at the Presidential Secretariat, Bey Machmudin, explained that the president’s previous working visit to Mojokerto was canceled.
“The visit to Mojokerto was initially planned on October 10, but it was postponed,” said Bey to Tempo on Friday morning.
Bey said the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) resubmitted the request for the state head's visit and it was finally realized today. “So today's working visit was scheduled a long time ago,” he added.
During the visit to Mojokerto, Jokowi was scheduled to visit PT Energi Agro Nusantara (Enero) in Gempolkrep, Gedeg. This subsidiary of state-owned plantation company PT Perkebunan Nusantara X processes molasses or sugarcane by-products into 99.5 percent ethanol.
Other than visiting the factory area, Jokowi will also inspect the sugarcane area of Temu Giring PTPN X in Batankrajan Village, Gedeg, Mojokerto. During the visit, he is accompanied by Mojokerto Regent Ikfina Fahmawati.
