TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian government has implemented new sets of rules for international travelers including Indonesians and foreign nationals that will take effect on July 17. The new requirements are the latest government Circular signed by the Transportation Ministry’s acting directorate-general Nur Isnin Istiartono on July 8, which has also designated 16 airports as the official entry points into Indonesia.

Travelers will be required to use the Indonesian COVID-19 tracing app PeduliLindungi and obey health protocols. Both Indonesians and foreign nationals must all show proof of second dose vaccination at least 14 days prior to departure in the physical form or digital, written in English apart from their respective native language.

Indonesian travelers that have not been vaccinated will be vaccinated at entry points while those that show symptoms of infection will be tested during arrival four days after being quarantined and must produce a negative result after this quarantine.

The 16 entry points consists of Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Juanda (Surabaya), I Gusti Ngurah Rai (Bali), Hang Nadim (Riau Islands), Raja Haji Fisabilillah (Riau Islands), Sam Ratulangi (North Sulawesi), Zainuddin Abdul Madjid (West Nusa Tenggara). Kemudian, Kualanamu (North Sumatera), and Sultan Hasanuddin (South Sulawesi).

Other airports appointed as entry points include Yogyakarta, Sultan Iskandar Muda (Aceh), Minangkabau (West Sumatera), Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II (South Sumatera), Adisumarmo (Central Java), Syamsuddin Noor (South Kalimantan), dan Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman, Sepinggan (East Kalimantan).

Foreign visitor travelers that have not been vaccinated who arrive at entry point airports and seek to continue their overseas flights are not required to show a vaccine certificate as long as they do not exit the airport.

Foreign travelers under the age of 18 years and travelers who already finished isolation or COVID-19 treatment and have recovered but are not eligible to receive second-dose vaccinations are not required to show vaccine certificates. However, this is only permitted if they have obtained a doctor’s note.

Travelers with comorbidity who are not permitted to receive vaccine shots are not required to show their vaccine certificate.
