Most Regions to Likely Experience Rain: BMKG Weather Forecast

5 July 2022 09:16 WIB

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) weather forecast for Tuesday, July 5, predicts rain will fall over a number of Indonesian regions. Higher intensity rain will likely take place at Bengkulu and Jambi while other regions will experience lower intensity rain.

Such regions will include Gorontalo, Banjarmasin dan Medan. Sementara hujan skala ringan kemungkinan terjadi di Serang, Bandung, Semarang, Surabaya, Palangkaraya, Tarakan, Tanjung Pinang, Bandar Lampung, Ambon, Ternate, Jayapura, Manokwari, Mamuju, Manado, Padang dan Palembang.

The BMKG has monitored cyclonic circulation in the Indian Ocean west of Sumatra, the waters west of West Kalimantan, and the Pacific Ocean east of the Philippines which forms a confluence or convergence area that extends from Bengkulu, East Kalimantan to North Kalimantan.

The convergence area is also observed extending from the western waters of Aceh to Aceh, Central Sulawesi. This condition is able to increase the potential for rain cloud growth around the cyclonic circulation area and along the convergence area.

Temperatures of the day will range from 21 degrees Celsius to 33 degrees, with the lowest logged in Bandung and the highest at Gorontalo, Semarang, Surabaya, Pontianak, and Palangkaraya.
