MyPertamina App Mandatory for Pertalite Purchase; Palace Explains the Reason

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The main expert staffer at the Presidential Staff Office Hageng Nugroho confirmed that the trial run of the distribution of subsidized fuel, Pertalite and Solar, will take effect on July 1, 2022.
People will be required to use MyPertamina mobile application developed by state oil and gas giant Pertamina to purchase the RON 90 type fuel Pertalite or subsidized diesel Solar.
“This rule is to ensure that the distribution of subsidized fuel, such as Pertalite and Solar, is right on target. If it is not regulated, there is a big potential that the quota that has been set for one year will not be enough. This is to maintain our energy security,” said Hageng in a statement, Wednesday, June 29, 2022.
He explained that this initial trial will be executed in several cities/regencies across five provinces, viz. West Sumatra, South Kalimantan, North Sulawesi, West Java, and DI Yogyakarta.
He said the basis for this policy includes Presidential Decree No. 191/2014 concerning the supply, distribution, and retail selling price of fuel and the Decree of Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) No. 4/2020 regarding the assignment of pertalite and solar.
The Indonesian government, Hageng added, has provided subsidies to curb the increase in fuel prices due to soaring prices of global oil.
