TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - PT MRT Jakarta established partnerships with two French railway companies, Alston and Thales, to develop the MRT network. Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan said that the collaboration was carried out on the basis that the Jakarta MRT will serve as the backbone of the city's changes in mobility.
"We all face the same climate crisis, we need to work together in dealing with it. We have to think far ahead, encouraging sustainability and sustainable change," Anies said in a written statement, Wednesday, May 25.
PT MRT Jakarta president director William Sabandar and Alstom's pre-tender support and marketing director Didier Valiere signed an agreement that covers rail system solutions, which include the procurement of trains, signals, infrastructure, and MRT Jakarta services.
William Sabandar also signed an agreement with Thales's VP of managing director for ground transportation revenue collection systems, Jean-Marc Reynaud. The partnership covers ticket system integration technology solutions.
Alstom is a French company that made the TGV, Europe's first high-speed train. Thales is a tech company that took part in modernizing the London Underground and Turkey's high-speed rail signaling systems.
