Mudik; Trucks Barred from Entering Toll Roads, No Ticketing of Odd-Even Policy

28 April 2022 09:05 WIB

TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe Toll Road Authority (BPJT) confirmed that the restriction on the operation of freight trucks on toll roads will take effect as of today, April 28, as one of the traffic management applied during this year's homecoming or mudik period of Eid al-Fitr.

The restricted operations are in effect during the mudik period starting April 28 midnight until 12:00 Western Indonesian Time (WIB) May 1, 2022 and during the return flow from May 6 midnight to 12:00 WIB May 9, 2022. The policy is contained in circular No. 45 of 2022 concerning road traffic rules during Eid 2022.

Trucks weighing more than 14,000 kilograms, vehicles with three axles or above, vehicles goods cars with patch trains, and trailers, as well as those carrying soil, sand, and or stone, mining materials, and building materials are prohibited from entering the toll road.

However, the prohibition does not apply to vehicles or trucks carrying basic necessities.

If there is a traffic disturbance, traffic operational management will be under the authority of the police.

Additionally, the policy would not issue tickets or impose fines to violators of the odd-even policy on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road during the Eid homecoming period starting today. “We won’t take action [against odd-even traffic system violators],” said Metro Jaya Traffic Police Director Sr. Comr. Sambodo Purnomo Yogo on Wednesday, April 27.
