Students Set to Stage Mass Rally on April 11

11 April 2022 06:43 WIB

TEMPO.CO, JakartaThe Indonesian Students Executive Boards' Alliance (BEM SI) confirmed that it will deploy a thousand people to stage a demonstration in front of the House of Representatives (DPR) building on Monday, April 11, as a follow-up on the six demands that have been filed.

BEM SI Media Coordinator Luthfi Yufrizal said on Sunday, April 10, that he and his fellow students had carefully prepared for today's mass action, including the time and further consolidation.

“Regarding tomorrow's rally, we have prepared further consolidation, on what is required during the act and other preparations,” said Luthfi when contacted on Sunday, April 10.

He claimed that a letter informing their plan to stage a protest had been sent to the police. Thus, his side is confident to stage the mass demonstration.

“We have sent a notification letter to the authorities and it was well-received,” Luthfi said.

“So for tomorrow's action, inshallah (If God's willing), we will take actions that are not illegal, really structured, and in accordance with the existing laws,” BEM SI spokesman underlined.
