TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Bank Indonesia (BI) said that the Siapik app has helped MSMEs obtain Rp18.3 billion worth of bank loans in 2021. BI official said that at the end of 2021 there were 17,837 users of the Siapik application.

"Out of that number, 724 MSMEs that use Siapik have obtained financing from banks with a total of IDR 18.3 billion," the central bank's head of MSME development and consumer protection Yunita Official Sari said on Monday, March 7, during the 'Kick Off Synergy to Push MSME Access to Financing through the Utilization of Siapik' event in Jakarta.

Siapik, which is short for 'Financial Information Recording Application Information System', is an app developed by BI since 2017 as part of an effort to encourage MSMEs to record financial transactions to generate reports.

Yunita Official Sari said the Siapik is "an accounting app that applies standard, easy, safe, simple, and reliable principles, and is used to record financial transactions both through Android and iOS-based mobile phones as well as desktops."

The app is also BI's way of responding to the rapid growth of internet users in the last five years as well as the development of MSME digitalization.

Siapik also comes with backup and restore features to protect financial transaction data from being lost, and contains information on how to use it in order to help users input data according to the type of transaction.
