TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has arrested two tax consultants from PT Gunung Madu Plantations in the tax audit bribery case. They are Ryan Ahmad Ronas and Aulia Imran Maghribi, both named suspects.
"The team of investigators has made efforts to forcefully detain the suspects," KPK deputy chair Alexander Marwata said in Jakarta, Thursday, February 17.
The anti-graft agency detained Aulia at the South Jakarta Metro Police while Ahmad Ronas is under the custody of the West Jakarta Police.
Alex said that the case began in October 2017. Aulia and Ryan met with two officials of the Directorate General of Taxes, Wawan Ridwan and Alfred Simanjuntak, representing PT Gunung Madu.
The KPK suspects that during the meeting Aulia and Ryan asked the Tax DG officers to reduce the amount of taxes that PT Gunung Madu must pay. They are suspected of having prepared Rp30 billion, of which Rp15 billion was paid to Tax DG officials Angin Prayitno Aji and Dadan Ramdani.
