TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigators have scheduled to cross examine two tax experts from the Finance Ministry's Directorate General of Taxes today. This is a follow-up on the investigation of alleged tax bribery in 2016 and 2017.
"They will be interviewed in the KPK Office at the Merah Putih Building," KPK acting spokesman Ali Fikri said on Friday, November 12.
The two experts from the Tax DG are Arif Budiman and Ariyanta. Both will be questioned as witnesses for suspect Wawan Ridwan.
Wawan Ridwan was a former supervisor of the Tax DG's tax audit team. He, and former director of audit and collection, Angin Prayitno Aji, are suspected of receiving bribes linked to tax audits.
The KPK suspects Wawan was given orders by Angin Prayitno Aji to audit PT Gunung Madu Plantation, PT Jhonlin Baratama, and PT Bank Pan Indonesia.
Based on its investigation so far, the KPK suspects that there were bribes to manipulate the company's tax value. Wawan is suspected of receiving the money and delivering it to Angin.
The KPK arrested Wawan at his office in Makassar on Wednesday, November 10.
