Denmark Open; 6 Indonesian Players to Compete in Quarter Finals

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The international badminton tournament, Denmark Open, has entered the final eight. Six of eleven Indonesian representatives managed to go to the quarter finals to secure the semifinal tickets at 1000 super tournament on Friday, Oct. 22.
The Men's Singles and Men's Doubles each sent two representatives, while the Women's Doubles and Mixed Doubles have one. Jonatan Christie and Tommy Sugiarto will represent the Men's Singles in the quarter-finals.
In the second round, Jonatan managed to beat Kanta Tsuneyama from Japan and will face the current first seed, Kento Momota. As for Tommy, he defeated Thomas Rouxel from France and will face Sameer Verma from India.
In the Men's Doubles games, Muhammad Shohibul Fikri and Bagas Maulana beat their fellow Indonesian, Marcus Fernaldi Gideon and Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo. And the other pairs, Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Rian Ardianto seized their tickets by defeating India.
Meanwhile, the Tokyo Olympic Champion, Greysia Polii / Apriyani Rahayu, will face Huang Dong Ping and Zheng Yu from China in the quarter-final.
Denmark Open quarter-finals will start at 12:00 Danish Time or 17:00 Western Indonesia Time.
