PLN Supplies 2.2MW Power, 129 Generators to Success PON Papua

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State electricity company PT PLN supplied a 2.2 megawatts power for the opening of the National Games Week (PON) in Papua on October 2, 2021.
"All officers are ready at the field to guard the power supply, especially at Lukas Enembe Stadium," said the firm's CEO Zulkifli Zaini in a statement released in Jakarta, Saturday 2, October.
Zulkifli said that his office also uses the same system that had successfully been implemented on the opening and the closing ceremonies of Asian Games 2018 in Jakarta and Palembang.
During the PON games in Papua, he went on, PLN deployed 129 generator units with the capacity of 200-500 kilowatts. Besides, the company prepared 55 units of mobile power, 45 mobile UPS units, seven mobile wires, and four sets of mobile wire and cubicles.
In the 'standby' periode from September 18 to October 15, PLN deploys a total 1,574 officers tasked in 45 games venues and 230 strategic locations in four clusters of where the games are being held.
Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, his side also had prepared anticipative measures to minimize the potential of virus transmission when the personnel works.
Besides the power supplies, in successing the PON Papua, PLN allocated Rp308.5 billion for electricity infrastructure and reliability fundings, as well as a Rp5.5 billion sponsorship fund.
