TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - State-owned pharmacy firm PT Kimia Farma was set to serve individually-paid Covid-19 vaccination as part of the Gotong Royong Vaccination program starting today, July 12. Agus Chandra as the Acting President Director of the company’s subsidiary, Kimia Farma Diagnostik, ensured that the program will not hinder the government’s vaccination program.
“The vaccine brand used for [the government’s] vaccination program and the Gotong Royong Vaccination is different. We ensure it will not interfere with the vaccination program that is paid by the government,” said Agus in a press conference on Sunday, July 11.
Agus underlined that the program will use doses by Sinopharm as used in the private program, while the government’s program uses Sinovac and AstraZeneca vaccines.
The price, he added, will be the same as the vaccine cost in the private program as set by the Health Ministry, including the injection service.
“We don’t use this self-paid vaccination program for commercial purposes. This is our effort to support the government in accelerating the vaccination process,” Agus said.
According to him, the vaccination was in line with the Health Ministerial Regulation (Permenkes) No. 19 of 2021 on the amendment to Permenkes No. 10 of 2021 on the implementation of vaccination to contain the Covid-19 pandemic.
For the first stage, Agus went on, the individually-paid Covid-19 vaccination service will be available at eight clinics in Java and Bali. “We prepare 5,000 doses in each clinic while reviewing the readiness and enthusiasm of the community.”
