Luhut Pandjaitan Visits South Korea for Future Investments

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Pandjaitan, visited a number of potential investors in pharmacy and green energy in South Korea on May 25-26. The minister was accompanied by Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin and SOEs Deputy Minister Kartika Wirjoatmodjo.
“For two days, we met with a number of South Korean companies such as Hyundai, LG Energy Solution, SK that is committed towards eco-friendliness and reducing carbon emissions," he wrote in a statement on Friday, May 28.
The minister claimed several South Korean companies will invest in environmentally friendly technology which will help Indonesia reach the carbon emission reduction goal.
The companies Luhut met on his first day in South Korea include LG Energy Solution, Korea Federation of Banks, SK E&S, and Sungwun Pharmacopia. Some of the meetings were follow ups on prior bilateral virtual meetings.
On the second day, Luhut Pandjaitan and his entourage met with representatives of Celltrion Healthcare to talk about the vaccine development between Genexine dan Kalbe Farma. They also approached Samsung Electronics and the National Pension Service of Korea.
