TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The momentum of the dropping number of Covid-19 patients treated at the Wisma Atlet emergency hospital was used by the facility’s 250 healthcare workers to go on a brief pastime at the Dufan FantasyLand theme park on Monday, April 12.
The Wisma Atlet Hospital coordinator Maj. Gen. Tugas Ratmono said on Monday evening that there will be over one thousand healthcare workers who will be spending a deserved brief ‘mini holiday’ at the Ancol Dreamland Park. It will be divided into a daily quota of 250 healthcare workers each day.
He assured that these workers will continue to practice safe health protocols during their recreation. This marks their first time outside of the facility since it started its operation on March 23, 2020, as the Covid-19 pandemic spread.
Ratmono said it is the hospital’s attempt to help ease the pressure from the healthcare workers who have spent months treating Covid-19 patients in isolation at the Wisma Atlet emergency Hospital.
“These healthcare workers need to stay jubilant to maintain their immunity,” said Tugas Ratmono who also assures that the series of mini recreations will not affect the patient care at Wisma Atlet.
Healthcare workers in the hospital have an eight hour shift with 32 hours of breaktime which is designed to keep the workers at their physical prime despite working at a ‘ground zero’ for the infectious virus. Management believes this type of working shift successfully prevented the doctors and nurses from being exposed to Covid-19.
The latest update from Wisma Atlet shows the falling number of patients in the past three months with April 12, 2021, logging only 20 percent occupancy rate with 1,244 patients from a total 5,994 hospital beds.
