TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesian Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto explained his working visit to Russia on Thursday, March 25. He met with the Deputy Defence Minister of the Russian Federation – Head of the Main Military-Political Directorate of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Colonel General Andrei Kartapolov, in Moskow.
"There is a positive trend in the collaboration of defense sector between Russia and Indonesia," said Kartapolov said during the meeting, as stated in the Defense Ministry's press release received by Tempo on Saturday, March 27.
The meeting also discussed the possibility of military technical development partnership between the two countries and disclosed the same agreement in an attempt to improve defense collaboration of both countries.
Prabowo and Kartapolov also talked on the importance of developing and mainatining multilateral partnership in the format of ASEAN Defence Ministers' Meeting Plus (ADMM-Plus).
In his working visit to Russia in June 2020, Prabowo had met with Russian Federation deputy of defense minister Alexander Fomin in Moskow.
