Covid-19 Daily Cases: Indonesia Hits Another New Record

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia recorded yet another new-high for the daily number of Covid-19 infections. The national Covid-19 Task Force reported 8,854 new cases on Wednesday, January 6.
The Health Ministry announced that as per today's noon, three provinces added the most positive cases; each with more than 1,000.
Jakarta reported the biggest number of daily infections with 2,402 people testing positive for the coronavirus. The capital also reported 1,063 recoveries and 16 deaths.
West Java is in second place with 1,470 new cases reported, with 1,363 recoveries and 11 deaths as per today.
Next is Central Java with 1,023 additional cases. The province also reported 1,013 recoveries and 48 deaths.
As of today, Indonesia has recorded a total of 788,402 confirmed Covid-19 cases with 652,513 recoveries. Indonesia's Covid-19 death toll has reached 23,296 people.
