Budget Realization on Covid-19 Social Assistance Reaches 98.54% as of Dec. 28

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Secretary-General of the Social Affairs Ministry Hartono Laras stated that the government has disbursed Rp125.35 trillion from the national economic recovery (PEN) program's budget for Covid-19 social assistance, or equal to 98.54 percent of the allocated Rp127.20 trillion.
“Based on data as of December 28, 2020, the budget realization has reached 98.54 percent of the target,” said Hartono during a virtual discussion held by the Communication and Informatics Ministry (Kominfo) on Tuesday, Dec. 29.
Hartono outlined that the social aid budget absorbed for the food package program or non-cash food assistance (BPNT) amounted to Rp41.56 trillion or 97.59 percent of the total budget of Rp42.59 trillion.
Meanwhile, the Family Hope Program (PKH), social aid in the form of rice or staple food, and cash aid for Non-PKH recipients used up the full budget or 100 percent valuing Rp36.71 trillion, Rp4.51 trillion, and Rp4.5 trillion, respectively.
The budget realization of cash aid reached 97.55 percent or Rp31.58 trillion of the targeted Rp32.4 trillion. In addition, the food package program for Jabodetabek residents took Rp6.492 trillion of the allocated Rp6.498 trillion or equal to 98.4 percent.
The Social Affairs Ministry, Hartono went on, would continue to improve the said six major programs, starting from updating the data on social assistance recipients.
“We will start it gradually. We will maintain the control so that the data of aid recipients match the Population and Civil Registration (Dukcapil) data,” he said.
