TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Tourism and Creative Economy Ministry is preparing the health protocol for various tourism activities, including hiking, diving, rafting, and paragliding.

The ministry’s deputy for tourism products and activities, Rizki Handayani Mustafa, said that Tourism Minister Wishnutama Kusubandio has agreed on the health measures for meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions or MICE at hotels and restaurants.

“We’ll issue the health protocols for mount climbing, diving, rafting, and paragliding activities,” Rizki said on the sidelines of ‘Road to Jazz Gunung Series’ virtual concert on Friday, September 25.

Rafting

The regulation is nearly complete and will immediately be disseminated so that travelers will feel safe to return to the tourism activities. “During the pandemic, people choose to do outdoor activities. People go the mountain as they are tired at home and need fresh air,” she said.

The Tourism Ministry, according to Rizki, has set the health measures at tourist destinations since May 2020. It includes maintaining physical distance, wearing masks, as well as washing hands with soap and running water regularly, in order to prevent the Covid-19 transmission.

Rizki Handayani called on the public to take part in abiding by the health protocols to suppress Covid-19 infection.
