TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Doctors Association (IDI) had denounced the inflated public claims made by Hadi Pranoto suggesting he had discovered a cure or rather a herbal antibody - according to the man claiming to be a microbiologist - for the COVID-19 virus.
However, the doctors association has yet to decide whether to file a police report against Hadi Pranoto.
“We are currently looking into the accuracy of information about Professor Hadi along with his findings,” IDI spokesperson Halik Malik to Tempo on Monday.
According to Halik, not many have been uncovered based on the background check the association had conducted, especially Hadi Pranoto’s claim that he helped create an antidote for COVID-19 that is able to cure sufferers within two-to-three days.
Hadi Pranoto managed to grab public attention after he was featured in a Youtube interview with musician-turned-internet personality Anji, who mentions Pranoto as a professor and expert in microbiology.
Not only did Hadi Pranoto claims to have cured thousands of people, but he also said his COVID-19 cure had been distributed to the Wisma Atlet Emergency hospital in North Jakarta. However, Maj. Gen. Ratmono from Wisma Atlet denies the “Professor’s” claims and said Pranoto is not a microbiology expert.
