TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo on Thursday encouraged regional leaders to prepare a grand recovery plan at the same time they impose the health and economy mitigation for the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

After the recovery, prepare the sectors that can immediately recover so that it can quickly rebound,” said Jokowi in opening the national development plan meeting done virtually from the Merdeka Palace today, April 30.

“Several countries have declared themselves recovered but are not facing a second wave of the pandemic. But I remain optimistic that 2021 will be our recovery and rebound,” said the president on his last term in office.
Moreover, the National Development Planning Minister (Bappenas) Suharso Monoarfa said that this year’s pandemic has greatly affected the country’s development programs and asserted that a scenario to recover the economy post-COVID-19 will be crucial to establish the 2021 macro economy structure plans.
