TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Tokopedia has appointed South Korean boy band BTS as its brand ambassador. The online merchant place platform selected the group for its record-breaking achievements over the past years, including being named as one of TIME magazine's ‘Most Influential People of 2019’.
Through this collaboration, Tokopedia hopes to be able to bring the public and BTS fans closer to their idols.
William Tanuwijaya, Tokopedia's co-founder and CEO, said that BTS journey and vision, along with the messages they consistently convey, are in line with Tokopedia's vision.
"We really appreciate their strong commitment in innovating and spreading positive messages, so that BTS is the right partner to deliver the Tokopedia message to the whole world," William said in a press statement on October 7.
As brand ambassador, BTS will also release content that will be available exclusively on the Tokopedia platform. Further information will be announced at a later date.
