TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The traffic flow on Jalan Gatot Subroto before the DPR-MPR building has returned to normal today, October 3. Two and four-wheeled vehicles are allowed to pass the road which was closed for the past few days.
"No road closure today on Jalan Gatot Subroto from Semanggi heading to the Parliament building. The traffic runs smoothly," as tweeted by Jakarta Traffic Police in its official Twitter account @TMCPoldaMetro, Thursday morning, October 3.
Jalan Gatot Subroto has been reopened after it was closed for almost a week due to a series of demonstrations in front of the DPR building. Since September 23, the mass protesters comprised of students, workers, activists, and other parties staged the rally against the revisions of the Criminal Code, the newly-ratified KPK Law, and other questionable bills.
Tempo observed that Jalan Gatot Subroto has been cleaned from mass vandalism on the walls of the building gate and road separators.
Two Transjakarta bus stops, Senayan JCC and Slipi Petamburan, near the DPR-MPR building, are operating normally as well. Previously, Transjakarta rerouted its lanes due to the road closure during the demonstrations.
