TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) Ministry's Deputy of human resources apparatus, Setiawan Wangsaatmadja, said his side is striving to complete the draft bill on civil servant’s (PNS) salary, allowance, and facility.
“We are still expediting it. The Government Regulation on salary, allowance, and facility [for civil servants] must be completed,” said Setiawan in Merdeka Barat Forum, Thursday, August 8.
According to Setiawan, the regulation could minimize the high gap pay of state apparatus' allowance between institutions. So far, many state employees refused to serve in regions out of the capital city because of varies amount of allowance improvement (TPP).
“For example, PNS Echelon II in Jakarta earn Rp60-80 million, while in Sleman only Rp5 million,” said Setiawan.
The gap pay, he added, existed because the amount of the allowance was set by regional administration based on its financial ability. Therefore, the Regulation on the matter was necessary to support equality.
Setiawan went on to say that the salary of civil servant across the country will be relatively the same, yet the differences in each regional standard will remain. The Ministry along with the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) is currently running a survey related to the prices in regions.
