Jokowi - Prabowo Meeting Should Come Naturally, Says Luhut

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Coordinating Minister of Maritime Affairs Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said he expects the meeting between President-elect Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and political rival Prabowo Subianto to happen naturally.
“Let [the meeting] run naturally when the time comes. Indonesia’s momentum is at its best. Don’t make a fuss about it and don’t ruin it from the inside,” said Luhut at the Maritime Affairs Coordinating Ministry in Central Jakarta on Tuesday, July 2.
The meeting between the two political rivals is expected to happen by a large number of people in Indonesia. This meeting is also believed to be a chance for both men to reconcile after a heated presidential election.
According to Luhut, the meeting is still unclear whether it would happen or not but said he heard information that Prabowo, who is currently overseas, is set to meet Jokowi after he arrives in Indonesia.
Luhut claims he is intensely communicating with Prabowo via phone calls. “I’ve talked to Pak Prabowo [numerous times] through the phone,” he said.
