TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) weather forecast suggests cloudy skies over Jakarta and its vicinity throughout the day on Wednesday, May 29.
“Localized rain will potentially happen in Jakarta’s southern region,” said BMKG spokesman Hary Djatmiko in a written statement today.
The BMKG has not issued any early warning regarding today’s weather forecast just one week to the Eid celebration.
Areas in Jakarta’s peripheral regions such as Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi will also be overcast throughout the day.
This weather condition will likely produce 5-30 kilometer per hour wind speeds with air temperature hovering around 24-34 degrees Celsius and 60-95 percent air density.
Moreover, BMKG chairman Dwikorita Karnawati announced the launch of a special application that can be used by people traveling home in this year’s mudik or Eid homecoming that would help people anticipate the weather conditions.
“Weather conditions will be updated every six hours and we’ll produce extreme weather early warnings three hours prior if [BMKG] detects a weather anomaly,” said Dwikorita on Tuesday.
