Indonesian Specialty Coffee Debuts at London Coffee Festival 2019

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Indonesia's specialty coffee made its debut at the London Coffee Festival 2019 at Old Truman Brewery, London, and reportedly generated potential transaction value up to USD 2 million.
The London trade attaché Nur Rakhman Setyoko said in a written statement that Indonesia's inaugural participation in the prestigious event was thanks to the partnership between the Indonesian trade attaché in London and the Indonesian Embassy (KBRI) in London.
The Indonesian pavilion showcased 24 specialty coffee from three Indonesian coffee entrepreneurs; Work Coffee Indonesia, PT Seribu Satu Rasa (Walking Drums), and Ngopi International Limited.
The list of coffee varieties brought to the event includes; gayo, bali kintamani, solok radjo, tolu batak, garut kasuga, enrekang nating, puntang peaberry, flores bajawa, mount halu (West Java), mount tilu (West Java).
The Indonesian pavilion also held a cupping session for potential buyers and general exhibition visitors.
"The London Coffee Festival 2019 is hoped to be an effective means to promote Indonesia’s coffee varieties in the U.K. market," said Rakhman in a written statement.
The London Coffee Festival 2019 attracted around 30,000 visitors which feature 250 coffee goers from coffee importers, wholesalers, coffee roasters, up to café owners. Indonesia's coffee export to the U.K. reached USD 24.49 million in value from 7.57 thousand tons of coffee.
