HMI Alumni Declare Support for Jokowi - Ma'ruf Amin

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Islamic Student Association (HMI) alumni exponents on Wednesday officially declared its support for incumbent presidential candidate Joko “Jokowi” Widodo and VP candidate Ma’ruf Amin.
The declaration was attended by the secretary for the Jokowi-Ma’ruf Amin campaign team (TKN), Hasto Kristiyanto, and TKN deputy chairman Arsul Sani.
HMI alumni’s chairman Judilherry Justam said that the organization he leads believes in Jokowi’s potential with proven work performance. Therefore, they decided to support him and Ma’ruf Amin in the upcoming 2019 presidential election.
“Based on that viewpoint, HMI alumni exponent believes that it is the right decision to show support for presidential candidate Joko Widodo and his running mate Ma’ruf Amin,” said Judilherry at the candidates’ campaign headquarters “Rumah Aspirasi” yesterday, April 3.
In response to the show of support, Hasto thanked the organization and asserted that it came in the precise moment considering HMI has a vast network across the country. Known figures joined in the HMI alumni exponents include former Golkar Party chairman Akbar Tanjung.
