TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - High rainfalls in the past few days have caused floods and landslides in several parts of Jayapura city, Papua Province, on Saturday night.
The floods affected flood-prone areas such as Entrop in South Jayapura district including Papua Trade Center (PTC) and Youtefa Market, Chief of the Jayapura City Disaster Mitigation Board (BPBD) Bernard Lamia said on Sunday morning.

The flooding inundated 80 houses and a senior high school building in Entrop area, while the landslide hit the road linking the Cendrawasih regional military command to Entrop, he said.
The landslide caused a nearly 15-meter long land subsidence on the road, cutting off land communication between the two areas.
"We ask the people living around Jayapura city to stay alert for high rainfalls during the rainy season," he said.
