Erick Thohir Leads Jokowi-Ma`ruf Camp to Play Offensive

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Erick Thohir, Head of Jokowi-Ma`ruf Amin campaign team, announced that his team will start to play offensively against its political rivals, claiming that opponents have started to adopt a wild strategy.
“We are forced to adopt an offensive strategy because we have been attacked and there were even attacks [accusing Jokowi] to the issue of Indonesian communist party (PKI),” said Erick in the National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) in Central Jakarta today.

Erick Thohir deemed the meeting important to consolidate its members following a number of reports filed against Jokowi and Ma’ruf and the campaign team itself. He maintained that the police reports made against his team are misguided and merely attempts to look for mistakes.
The issues aimed at Jokowi’s camp, according to Erick, include the recent finding of the hundreds of abandoned electronic ID cards (E-KTP) in a deserted field in East Jakarta.
“This is why I clearly stated that the E-KTP case must be thoroughly investigated. Because if Jokowi eventually wins, people would accuse us of deception,” said Erick who previously led the success of the Asian Games as Inasgoc Chairman.
