TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - The Indonesian Fintech Joint Funding Association (AFPI) asked the Jakarta Legal Aid Institute (LBH) to open the identities of 25 peer to peer (P2P) lending organizers or registered online loan services that are said to have made violation.

This was stated by AFPI deputy chairman Sunu Widyatmoko. According to him, by opening the identity, the association can discipline its members who are indeed proven to have committed violations.

“We have held a meeting with our members and we have sent a letter to the LBH Jakarta to ask for an explanation so we don’t need to use the initials again. So that the cases will be revealed, who the debtor is, and what the problem is,” he said, Tuesday, December 11.

The association needs to know whether this is a new case or an old case. If the case is an old one, a solution will be immediately sought. Meanwhile, the association will not tolerate if the violation committed is a new one.

“If the intention is for the good of the people and the progress of the industry, in my opinion, just open the identity of the registered platform. So it can be resolved through legal proceedings or outside the court,” he said.

Previously, LBH Jakarta reported that there were 1,330 complaints by the community related to violations of the online loan ethics code. Of the 89 finteches reported, there are 25 platforms that are already registered with the Financial Services Authority (OJK).

The 25 platforms are known to have the initials DR, RP, PY, TK, KP, DC, DI, RC, PG, UM, EC, CW, KV, DB, CC, UT, PD, PG, DK, FM, ID, MC, RO, PD, and KC.
