TEMPO.CO, Semarang - The National Police Chief Gen. Tito Karnavian said about half of the National Police members did not have houses.
“There are still around 200,000 members who do not have houses,” Tito said when inaugurating the Semarang Pratama Police Academy Clinic in Semarang on Sunday, December 9.
According to Tito, half of them are the National Police who are enlisted officers, non-commissioned officers, and first officers. The police official housing can only meet around 14 percent of the police members.
Tito said that it was very difficult to rely on the service in meeting the needs of the house for the police members. Therefore, he encouraged cooperation with banks, including other financing institutions, such as Asabri (Indonesian Armed Forces Social Insurance).
“The housing scheme with a zero percent down payment (DP), cooperate with banks,” he said.
According to Tito, the housing will be intended for the new police members. The payment method is a pay cut system with an installment period of 30 to 35 years.
